Biography
Tracy Stanker is an experienced trial attorney with over 20 years of litigation experience. Tracy joined the law firm of Ekl, Williams & Provenzale in 2009 and is currently a partner in the firm. Tracy’s practice is focused on civil litigation and she has represented individuals and municipalities in a wide variety of cases including federal civil rights, personal injury, trade secrets and contract disputes. Tracy is also an experienced appellate attorney and has argued cases before the Seventh Circuit and the Second District of Illinois.
Prior to joining the firm of Ekl, Williams & Provenzale, Tracy was employed as an Assistant State’s Attorney in Cook County. During her seven year career as an Assistant State’s Attorney, Tracy tried hundreds of felony and misdemeanor cases before judges and juries.
Tracy obtained her law degree from Chicago-Kent College of Law with high honors. While in law school, Tracy was a member of the trial advocacy team and law review.

Representative Cases
- Alstory Simon v. Northwestern University, 15-CV-1433. Successfully represented individual that was wrongfully imprisoned for murder based upon the actions of a journalism professor.
- McCullough v. DeKalb County, 17-cv-50116. Successfully obtained dismissal of case against prosecutors wrongfully accused of violating a criminal defendant’s civil rights.
- People v. Louis Bianchi (McHenry County, 2011 and 2012). Obtained directed findings for the former McHenry County State’s Attorney falsely accused of official misconduct in two cases.
- Bianchi v. McQueen, 2016 IL App (2 ) 150646. Successfully obtained appellate reversalnd of the dismissal of client’s malicious prosecution claims against a special prosecutor.
- Holmes v. LaSalle County, 13-cv-6997 and Askew v. LaSalle County, 19-cv-280. Obtained successful settlement agreements for clients improperly detained and strip searched at the LaSalle County Jail
- Obrycka v. City of Chicago, 913 F.Supp.2d 598. Obtained a jury verdict and fee award totaling over $2,500,000 against the City of Chicago for a woman beat by an off-duty Chicago police officer based upon a finding that a “code of silence” existed at the Chicago police department.
- Lamb v. Combs 17-cv-50280. Successfully obtained dismissal of case against prosecutors wrongfully accused of violating a criminal defendant’s civil rights.
